MARINE CORPS BASE HAWAII – Donald Long, a survivor of Dec. 7, 1941 attacks on Oahu, smiles for a photo near Marine Corps Base Hawaii, Dec. 8, 2016. Long, a native of Barnum, Minn., was working as an aircraft radio striker onboard a PBY Catalina aboard Naval Air Station Kaneohe during the attacks on Oahu. He was attending the 75th commemoration of the Dec. 7 attacks. After the ceremonies, the Greatest Generations Foundation provided the survivors with a boat ride on Kaneohe Bay where the attacks also happened. The Greatest Generations Foundation is dedicated to honoring the sacrifices of veterans by returning them to their former battlegrounds, cemeteries and memorials to ensure that their legacies are recorded and retold in perpetually to future generations.
