Cmdr. Jeffery Oakey, commanding officer of the amphibious transport dock ship USS New Orleans, ship riders from Argentina, Mexico, Peru, Brazil, Uruguay, and Colombia, and junior officers from the U.S., transit to the guided-missile frigate USS Klakring in a rigid-hull inflatable boat. New Orleans is participating in Southern Partnership Station, an annual deployment of U.S. military training teams to the U.S. Southern Command area of responsibility.
