Retired Senior Chief Information System Technician Lee Moburg,
wireless amateur radio (HAM) operator, manned the HAM radio at Naval Hospital Bremerton during the command's full scale training exercise Operation Cascadia Rumble held in conjunction with Cascadia Rising 2016, the largest drill of its type ever conducted throughout the Pacific Northwest to test state, local and federal emergency management ability in such specific areas like communication ability. When - not if - the next big earthquake hits, Puget Sound residents can expect internet and cellphone connectivity to be knocked out as well as landline phone services served. HAM radio provides a reliable option to retain communications with other vital government agencies (Official Navy Photo by Douglas H Stutz, NHB Public Affairs).
