Retired Cmdr. Donald J. Hayes, former commanding officer of Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron 10 from June 1966 through August 1967, and Airman Jason Henry, aircrew survival equipmentman, the youngest Sailor at HS-10, cut the cake during the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the squadron. HS-10 is a shore-based unit of Helicopter Anti-Submarine Wing, U.S. Pacific Fleet and was commissioned on June 30, 1960 at Imperial Beach, Calif. The squadron has been based at Naval Air Station North Island, San Diego since Dec. 23, 1976.
