Before leaving Camp Atterbury for deployment in 2009, 1st Sgt. Bob Hempstead, the first sergeant for the 1313th Engineer Company, and his daughter, then Pfc. Crystal Hempstead, a light-wheel vehicle mechanic for the 1313th, conducted pre-mobilization training at Muscatatuck Urban Training Center.
