Landstuhl Regional Medical Center Commander Col. James A. Laterza passes the
Wiesbaden Army Health Clinic guideon to outgoing WAHC commander Col. LaShanda
Cobbs during a change of command ceremony in Wiesbaden June 28. "You are
leaving an important legacy in this great community," Laterza told Cobbs. He
lauded the WAHC achievements under her command, including earning recognition
for safety, increasing patients' access to appointments while also increasing
patient satisfaction, and expanding from one to 29 telehealth specialties and
helping more patients save time and money by receiving specialty care at WAHC
instead of traveling to Landstuhl. Cobbs will soon take on her next role
Command Inspector General at the Northern Regional Medical Command in Fort
Belvoir, Va.
Incoming WAHC Commander Lt. Col. Nelson So, center, most recently held a
position as a Congressional Liaison for the Office of the Surgeon General in
Falls Church, Va. He will rely on Detachment Sergeant, right, Sgt. First
Class Juan Ayarza during his tenure. Laterza expressed his trust that So is
prepared for the challenge of putting Soldiers and patients first and leading
from the front. "I know that you will excel as the clinic commander here and
enable us to continue exceeding the standards of patient care at every
opportunity," said Laterza.
