    The “Hero of the Battle” Award was presented to eight Soldiers of the Mississippi and Kansas Army National Guard as part of the 155th Armored Brigade Combat Team’s Multi-echelon Integrated Brigade Training exercise at Fort Hood, Texas. June 17, 2016. It recognizes the Soldier’s individual and significant efforts to ensure their battalion’s success. The award was presented to (standing from left) Staff Sgt. Adam Hutchinson, Company B, 106th Support Battalion; Sgt. 1st Class Marcus Padgett, Company A, 1st Battalion, 155th Infantry Regiment; 1st Lt. Alex Armstrong, Headquarters Company, 155th Brigade Special Troops Battalion; Spc. Trevor Stevens, Headquarters Company, 155 ABCT; (kneeling from left) Staff Sgt. Benjamin Johnson, Company A, 2d Battalion, 137th Infantry Regiment, Kansas Army National Guard; Cpl. Antonie Anderson, Battery B, 2d Battalion, 114th Field Artillery Regiment; Sgt. 1st Class Chris Parker, Troop B, 1st Squadron, 98th Cavalry Regiment; and Staff Sgt. Clarence Myers, Company E, 106th Support Battalion. The awards were presented by the 177th Armored Brigade commander. The 177th, headquartered at Camp Shelby Miss., represented First Army in both the planning and execution of the exercise as a training partner. A MIBT is a multicomponent event that sustains readiness of reserve and active components in accordance with the U.S. Army’s total force policy. The 155th is one of two Army National Guard fully modernized brigade combat teams in the U.S. Army and is the largest unit in the Mississippi Army National Guard with approximately 3,000 Soldiers.
