U.S. Coast Guardsman Electricians Mate 1st Class John Rivera exhibits the proper way to apply a soft patch to a pipe during a demonstration for members of the Barbados Defense Force on June 6 during Tradewinds 2016 in Grenada. This demonstration was part of an afternoon joint training exercise between the French, Canadian and United States forces specifically designed to explain each country’s unique technique for fighting fire and pipe issues. Tradewinds 2016 is a joint combined exercise conducted in conjunction with partner nations to enhance the collective abilities of defense forces and constabularies to counter transnational organized crime and to conduct humanitarian/disaster relief operations.
