U.S. Navy and Coast Guard Sailors comprising the U.S. Armed Forces Sailing Team compete in the 44th World Military Sailing Championship, March 18. The American team, part of the Department of Defense Armed Forces Sports Program, competed against teams from 25 countries in this annual event that was held in Bahrain for the first time. The DoD Armed Forces Sports Program promotes goodwill and physical fitness through a highly competitive sports program, and creates opportunities for military athletes to participate in national and international competitions.
