Over 1,700 lbs. of C4 explosives detonate as Soldiers from 10th Engineer Battalion, 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division use a Mine Clearing Line Charge to clear an obstacle during their Gunnery Table XII at Grafenwoehr Training Area, Germany May 19. The MICLIC is fired from an M1 Armored Breacher Vehicle and clears a lane through the obstacle for the rest of the platoon to safely pass through. Qualifying on the gunnery table certifies the platoon and prepares them for Exercise Anakonda 16 to be held in Poland June 7-17. Anakonda is a Polish-led exercise that will include over 25,000 participants from 24 nations, supporting assurance and deterrence measures by demonstrating allied defense capabilities to deploy, mass and sustain combat power.
