Gen. Ray Odierno (left), the senior American commander in Iraq, has a discussion with Sgt. Maj. Vicky Hopson, the command sergeant major of the 180th Transportation Battalion and other Soldiers at Camp Arifjan, Kuwait, Feb. 12. "I generally travel four times per week to get operational updates from our Brigades and Battalions," Odierno recently posted to Facebook. On this trip Odierno praised the efforts of Soldiers simultaneously involved with the Responsible Drawdown of Iraq and the buildup of forces and equipment in Afghanistan. The 180th is a part of the 1st Theater Sustainment Command which is charged with accomplishing both monumental tasks at the same time. Hopson and her Soldiers were praised by Odierno for the hundreds of successful convoys into and out of Iraq.
