Capt. Kevin Messamer of Sheridan, Wyo., commander of the Wyoming Army National Guard's A Battery, 2nd Battalion, 300th Field Artillery, 115th Fires Brigade, teaches a Wyoming Game and Fish Hunter Education class at Camp Virginia in October 2009. Messamer's participation as an instructor helped certify him to teach the full course. He was certified by Lt. Col. Brian Nesvik, a Wyoming game warden and the battalion commander, and was the first to teach the course in a combat zone. Students received their certification cards in January.
