Gabrunas presents a lei to USS Sculpin (SS-191) at the historic USS Parche Submarine Park and Memorial at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam. Chief Motor Machinist Mate Gabrunas died in action Nov. 19, 1943, while manning the hydraulic manifold when USS Sculpin was sunk by a Japanese destroyer in the South Pacific.
