Construction of San Antonio Military Medical Center's consolidated tower. Because of the 2005 BRAC initiative, SAMMC is now the largest inpatient health care facility in the Department of Defense and the only Level 1 trauma center serving 22 counties in South Texas and providing emergency services to 80,000 people annually.
