Pfc. Kameron B. Whitaker, honor graduate of platoon 1078, retires the guidon to his Drill Instructor during graduation Sept. 18, 2015, at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, S.C. Whitaker, a native of Colquitt, Ga., was recruited by Staff Sgt. Chase V. Morrison out of Recruiting Station Montgomery. Recruit training signifies the transformation of a civilian to a United States Marine. Upon graduation, the newly-minted Marines will receive ten days of leave before attending the School of Infantry East, Camp Geiger, N.C.
