Sailors lift their chocks above their heads to show the pilots of a CH-53E Super Stallion helicopter assigned to "Iron Horse" of Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 461 that they are free to take off on the flight deck of the multipurpose amphibious assault ship USS Wasp while practicing "externals", the lifting and transport of external cargo. Wasp is currently deployed on Southern Partnership Station-Amphib with Destroyer Squadron 40 and a Security Cooperation Marine Air-Ground Task Force embarked. Southern Partnership Station is part of the Partnership of the Americas Maritime Strategy that focuses on building interoperability and cooperation in the region to meet common challenges.
