Pfc. John Z. Grant, honor graduate of platoon 3064, marches across the parade deck as part of the pass and review portion of graduation at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, S.C., Sept. 11, 2015. Grant is from Kingsland, Ga., and was recruited from Recruiting Station Jacksonville. Recruit training signifies the transformation of a civilian to a United States Marine. Upon graduation, the newly-minted Marines will receive ten days of leave before attending the School of Infantry East, Camp Geiger, N.C.
