Members of the CASCOM command team sign a "Take Action Pledge" during the Aug. 28 Suicide Preventation and Awareness Month Kickoff Breakfast at the Fort Lee Family Life Center. The pledge opens with the following statement: "I will take action by treating everyone with dignity and respect, and become an intervener and not a bystander. My team must be able to depend on me to take care of them." Maj. Gen. Darrell K. Williams, CASCOM and Fort Lee commanding general, was the first to sign, followed by Command Sgt. Maj. Terry E. Parham Sr., CASCOM CSM, and John E. Hall, deputy to the commanding general. The month-long observance at Fort Lee will include "take-action" booths at the Post Exchange, a leader development session featuring a survivor's panel, and a take-action walk/run at Williams Stadium on Sept. 30.
