Richard Smith, 65th Air Base Group Medical Operations and Support Squadron commander at Lajes Field, Azores, held a press conference on Aug. 26, at the west gate of Ramstein Air Base, Germany. Smith relayed a message from Airman 1st Class Spencer Stone thanking people for their continued support and appreciation after he sustained injuries while subduing a gunman on a French train Aug. 21, 2015.
