INDIAN OCEAN (July 31, 2015) U.S. Marine Sgt. Maj. Douglas Schaefer, right, congratulates the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit’s “Marine of the Week” awardee Lance Cpl. William Sutton aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Essex (LHD 2). Schaefer is the sergeant major of the 15th MEU. Sutton is from Wilton, Calif., and is an airframes structural technician from the “Greyhawks” of Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 161 (Reinforced). Sutton helped inspect and repair a CH-53E Super Stallion’s main rotor blade ultimately saving the Marines and Navy over $300,000 and minimized aircraft down time. Sutton also supported the Crossing the Line Ceremony with the design and manufacturing of King Neptune’s crown and trident. The 15th MEU is embarked on the Essex Amphibious Ready Group and deployed to maintain regional security in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Cpl.
