INDIAN OCEAN (July 22, 2015) U.S. Marine Sgt. Charles A. Brown, left, demonstrates a counter to a round-house kick from Cpl. Martin Corona during a Marine Corps Martial Arts Program (MCMAP) course aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Essex (LHD 2). Brown and Corona are MCMAP instructors both with the “Greyhawks” of Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 161 (Reinforced), 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit. These instructors were teaching techniques for a course of Marines trying to earn their brown or black belt. Elements of the 15th MEU, based out of Camp Pendleton, California, and embarked aboard the Essex, are conducting naval operations in the 6th Fleet area of operations in support of U.S. national security interests in Europe and Africa.
