150709-N-MV308-001 KANEOHE BAY, Hawaii (July 9, 2015) – Naval Aircrewman (Mechanical) 3rd Class Christopher Madden, assigned to the "Golden Eagles" of Patrol Squadron (VP) 9, starts up air conditioning in a P-3C Orion maritime patrol aircraft to offset the load of revolutions per minute as part of his auxiliary power unit pre-flight. All tactical crew members are trained on proper start-up and shut-down procedures for the P-3C Orion before obtaining their designation.
