Fort Campbell military police, Hopkinsville police honor fallen law enforcement officials

Maj. James J. Judge, the provost marshal for Fort Campbell, Kentucky, spoke at the Hopkinsville Law Enforcement Memorial Service on May 14, 2015, at the Christian County Justice Center in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. In 1962, President John F. Kennedy designated May 15 as Peace Officers Memorial Day, and the week in which that date falls is commonly known as Police Week – a week where law enforcement officials from across the nation remember and celebrate the lives of those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice. The provost marshal was one of five speakers at the event to include state Rep. John Tilley, D-Hopkinsville. Judge said during his speech that it is unique and an exceptional quality to find people who serve something bigger than themselves in a self-centered world. Fort Campbell’s military police have participated in the ceremony annually as part of their partnership with the Hopkinsville community. (U.S. Army photo by Capt. James A.
