Command Sgt. Maj. Steven Payton (right), of Grenada, Miss., 1st Battalion, 319th Field Artillery Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, Multi-National Division – Baghdad, places the Sergeant Audie Murphy Club medallion around the neck of Staff Sgt. Timothy Glass, of Bedford, Iowa, Sept. 12. The medallion signifies the rite of passage into the respected SAMC which contains thousands of NCOs who have displayed professionalism and leadership qualities throughout their careers. Glass is assigned to C Company, 1st Battalion, 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment.
