ARABIAN SEA (June 24, 2015) U.S. Marines practice sparing during a Martial Arts Instructor Course aboard the USS Anchorage (LPD 23). The students are going through the rigorous course in order to become MCMAP instructors for their respective units. Anchorage is part of the Essex Amphibious Ready Group, and, with the embarked 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit, is deployed in support of maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations.
