Cpl. Mathew Mueller, Fort Carson, Colo., readies the shot put. Mueller competed for Team Army in the vision-impaired category of the shot put at the 2015 Department of Defense Warrior Games, Marine Corps Base Quantico, Va., on June 23. He also cycles, swims, runs track and plays on the sitting volleyball team. The DOD Warrior Games are held from June 19-2 and are an adaptive sports competition for wounded, ill and injured service members and veterans. Approximately 250 athletes, representing teams from the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Special Operations Command and the British Armed Forces will compete in archery, cycling, shooting, sitting volleyball, swimming, track & field and wheelchair basketball.
