An F-35B short takeoff/vertical landing (STOVL) fighter jet, designated BF-04 and associated with USS Wasp, is performing a short takeoff over a ski-jump ramp structure at a ground test facility. The aircraft's landing gear is still deployed and its lift fan door is open, indicating it is in the early phase of takeoff. The setting appears to be a military airfield with a purpose-built ski-jump ramp used for testing carrier-based takeoff procedures.
