Distinguished guests during the dedication ceremony of the National Guard Patriot Academy cut the ribbon outside of the Academy, Aug. 26, at the Muscatatuck Urban Training Center, Ind. The guests and key note speakers include (from left) Maj. Gen. Raymond Carpenter, Rep. Baron Hill, Maj. Gen. R. Martin Umbarger, Indiana Lt. Gov. Becky Skillman, Col. Perry Sarver Jr., Command Sgt. Maj. Victor Angry, Brig. Gen. Bryan Hult and Retired Lt. Gen. Clyde Vaughn. The academy, which is the first of its kind, allows high school dropouts to earn their high school diploma through online courses while serving in the Army National Guard.
