Commander, U.S. Fleet Forces Command, Adm. Phil Davidson speaks with Pearl Harbor survivor James Blakely at an event held in Brooklyn, N.Y. to rededicate the borough's WWII memorial, which has been closed for the past 30 years. The event was part of Fleet Week New York 2015. "Today I had the great privilege and honor of joining 27 WWII veterans for the rededication of this important memorial. It was truly humbling to hear their stories. Their humility and selflessness remains an inspiration to us all." FWNY is now in its 27th year and is the city's time-honored celebration of the sea services. It is an unparalleled opportunity for the citizens of New York and the surrounding tri-state area to meet Sailors, Marines and Coast Guardsmen, as well as witness firsthand the latest capabilities of today's maritime services.
