SAN DIEGO (May 11, 2015) Quartermaster Seaman Olivia McGuire, from Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Essex (LHD 2), takes a bearing from vulture’s row during sea and anchor detail as Essex leaves for a scheduled deployment as part of the Essex Amphibious Ready Group (ARG). The Essex ARG is comprised of USS Essex, amphibious dock landing ship USS Rushmore (LSD 47), and the amphibious transport dock USS Anchorage (LPD 23), which is embarking upon its maiden deployment.
