POLARIS POINT, Guam (May 8, 2015) Rear Adm. William Merz, commander, Submarine Group 7, salutes as he goes through the sideboys aboard the submarine tender USS Frank Cable (AS 40 Merz held a luncheon onboard Frank Cable to meet with leadership and discuss his expectations for submarines under his command. Frank Cable, forward deployed to the island of Guam, conducts maintenance and support of submarines and surface vessels deployed to the U.S. 7th Fleet area of responsibility.
