Brazilian marines demonstrate lane training techniques during a Partnership of the Americas 2009 training exercise. Partnership of the Americas, which was executed simultaneously with UNITAS Gold, is an annual U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Southern Command, multi-national company-level combined and joint exercise that focuses on enhancing interoperability between U.S. Marines and partner-nation Marines. Deployed as Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force 24, the U.S. Marines of 24th Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division, are conducting training with Marines from Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Peru, Uruguay, and soldiers from the Royal Canadian army.
