Three M1A1 Abrams tanks with 2nd Tank Battalion, 2nd Marine Division secured a circular perimeter defense after bounding down a field as they engaged upon an enemy tank during a Marine Corps Combat Readiness Evaluation held at Fort Pickett, Virginia, March 25-28, 2015. Marines with the battalion were evaluated on different scenarios during the MCCRE, which included tactical road marches, bounding through a field in tanks while engaging potential threats, and shooting at a range designed for platoon gunnery qualification.
