Sgt. Dustin Jirka, gunner with C Company, 1st Battalion, 12th Cavalry Regiment, 3rd "Greywolf" Heavy Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, is pictured in front of a mural that he painted, holding a certificate of appreciation that he received for his efforts. Jirka, a native of Seely Lake, Mont., received the Army Commendation Medal from Col. Gary Volesky (not pictured), the commanding officer of the Greywolf Brigade, June 24, at Forward Operating Base Marez in Mosul, Iraq. Jirka was elected to paint the mural after Volesky saw his handy work at Forward Operating Base Tal Afar, where the tanker's battalion resides.
