Staff Sgt. Christopher Lamp, with the Headquarters & Headquarters Battalion US Army Europe, controls the HMMWV Egress Assistance Trainer (HEAT) Feb. 24, 2015, at the Wiesbaden Training Support Center. Staff Sgt. Lamp conducts a simulated rollover while a German soldier is inside. Conducting such training under controlled conditions will allow vehicle occupants to gain experience in the proper egress procedures. This type of training is necessary for soldiers to achieve self-control and overcome natural fear and panic following the catastrophic event when a vehicle becomes inverted in a combat or training mission. This was conducted as a part of a Joint International Combat Life Savers Course in Wiesbaden from Feb. 23-27, 2015. The training included tactical combat casualty care, K9 trauma, and advanced medical procedures. This training ensures that both the United States Army and soldiers and sailors from Germany, Ukraine, Finland, remain strong and focused.
