Taylor was given a letter of appreciation from the Uruma City Police department at the Uruma City Police Department for his community relations efforts in areas surrounding Camp Courtney. During his time on Okinawa, Taylor has organized several safety campaigns and community outreach programs, including giving gifts to Okinawa children over the holidays and starting a driver safety campaign to educate service members about driving in Okinawa. Taylor also started a radio show hosted by Ray A. Welch, the Camp Courtney camp director, which airs Saturdays at 5 p.m. on 86.8 FM and informs service members of Okinawa traditions, driving safety and community events.
