Quinteros, from Queens, N.Y., communicates with damage control central during a simulated lube oil leak and fire drill aboard the Avenger-class mine countermeasures ship USS Defender. Defender is homeport in San Diego, Calif. and will conduct a deployment to the western Pacific Ocean supporting maritime security operations in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of responsibility toward the end of June.
