    USS Green Bay operations

150305-N-KE519-006 OKINAWA, Japan (Mar. 5, 2015) - The forward deployed San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock ship USS Green Bay (LPD 20) is moored next to the forward deployed amphibious assault ship USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6) during an unload of the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU). Green Bay is replacing the decommissioned Austin-class amphibious transport dock ship USS Denver (LPD 9) as part of the U.S. Navy's long-range plan to send the most advanced and capable units to the Asia-Pacific region.
