The casing of colors marks the end of the regiment’s mission assigned to Train, Advise, Assist Command – East in eastern Afghanistan; they are replaced by the 3rd Brigade Combat Team “Rakkasans” from the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) who assumed responsibility of the advisory mission and force protection of U.S. coalition troops in eastern Afghanistan.
