Marines go through the Jungle Warfare Training Center’s endurance course Nov. 25 on Camp Gonsalves. During the course, the Marines had to make their way through pits filled with muddy water and many other obstacles. “The hardest part of the course was the stretcher carry,” said Cpl. Samuel C. Mills from Lawrenceville, Georgia. “Trying to get the stretcher, with the Marine on it, over the hills was miserable.” Mills is a fire support man with 1st Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, currently assigned to 4th Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force, under the unit deployment program.
