Parris Island Marines donned period uniforms to celebrate the Marine Corps’ birthday during the annual Marine Corps Birthday Ball Pageant Nov. 5, 2014, on Parris Island, S.C. This year’s pageant commemorated the Marine Corps’ 239th birthday. During the pageant, Marines wore uniforms from different historical eras, dating back to the Corps’ founding in 1775.
