The Simek family of Bismarck was named the North Dakota Army National Guard's 2008 Family ofthe Year on Saturday. Sgt. Jeffrey Simek serves in Headquarters and Headquarters Company of the 1-112th Aviation Battalion, and his wife, Annette, has been active in the Guard's Family Readiness Groups for 13 years. The couple has two children: Tryston, 12, and Michael, 9.
