Staff Sgt. Robert Weddle, a Leesport, Pa., native with the 89th Military Police Brigade, III Corps, and his military working dog, Elmo, successfully return after a "search" demonstration, at Contingency Operating Base Speicher, near Tikrit, Iraq, Feb. 12. Military searching dogs utilize their keen senses of smell to locate and identify many locations of possible interest to service members in the field, such as improvised explosive devices and weapon caches.
