Sgt. 1st Class Robert Shoup coaches British Maj. Ellis Haverson as he test fires one of the rifles AMU instructors use to teach the Squad Designated Marksmanship (SDM) Course. Haverson’s mission as the commander of the Operational Shooting Training Team for the 3rd (UK) Division is to evaluate and improve the division’s marksmanship programs. He visited the AMU to see how U.S. forces are working to improve marksmanship in the ranks and to begin to establish a partnership with the unit.
