Soldiers from Company C, 1st Battalion, 126th Aviation regiment, train near where the rescue operation took place over Baxter State Park. The terrain of the park can make ground landings difficult. The Army National Guard unit is the only facility in the state that has hoist capabilities to lift objects and personnel out of the park. The Maine Army National Guard trains closely with Baxter State Park to assist them with medical and other emergencies just like this. (U.S. Army National Guard photo by Spc. Adam J. Simmler)
