Brig. Gen. Niel E. Nelson addresses his Marines June 2 at Camp Kinser during a special promotion ceremony. Ten-month-old English bulldog Pvt. Nellie B. Willful, the 3rd Marine Logistics Group mascot, was promoted to the rank of lance corporal. Nelson used this unique promotion as an opportunity for the Marines in attendance to ask questions and speak their minds on issues within the Marine Corps.
