Sailors and Marines aboard the multi-purpose amphibious assault ship USS Bataan man the rails as the ship departs New York after a scheduled port visit. Bataan was in New York for a week of community relations projects, daily tours, participation in the city's annual Veterans Day Parade and support for the reopening of the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum. The ship is at sea conducting training in preparation for their upcoming 2009 deployment.
