Master Chief Petty Officer Daniel Woodward, from Pittsburgh, Pa., supervises the crew of the amphibious assault ship USS Bataan as they man the rails to enter New York. Bataan is in New York to celebrate Veterans Day and will participate in community relations projects, host daily tours and participate in the 76th annual New York City Veterans Day Parade. After the port visit, ships of the Bataan Expeditionary Strike Group will return to sea to conduct group sail training in preparation for their upcoming 2009 deployment.
