Maria Luz Roberto, a phlebotomist, draws blood from volunteer donor, Gabriel Verhage, during an Armed Services Blood Program blood drive sponsored by Naval Medical Center San Diego. Verhage's donation is a way of giving back after having an aircraft carrier crew stand in line to donate blood to help him after an accident aboard the ship years ago.
