Airman 1st Class James Baker, emergency management journeyman assigned to the 379th Expeditionary Civil Engineer Squadron, uses a stimulant to do an operational check on M-22 chemical detectors on Oct. 1, 2008, at an undisclosed air base in Southwest Asia. Emergency management members ensure equipment and personnel are prepared should the enemy choose to resort to chemical weapons use. Baker, a native of Stafford, Va., is deployed from Yokota Air Base, Japan, in support of Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom and Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa.
